Tipping the food delivery person is standard practice, but one woman has gone viral for giving a little extra, and she revealed to Newsweek her heartwarming reason to be generous.
Osiris Wichman, from Chicago, uploaded the footage from her doorbell cam on TikTok, which showed her tipping the food delivery person extra because she's working late shifts as a single mom.

As she hands over the order, Wichman receives a long embrace in return.
She said: "You just never know when you'll be someone's answered prayer."
"My mother had all kinds of jobs, from fast food restaurants to factories to janitorial jobs, [and] she had to change jobs often because of her immigration status," she recalled.
"I begged her to allow me to help her work and contribute to the house. As any immigrant parent, she wanted me to focus on school, but I just couldn't see her struggle so I helped as much as I could while also looking after my younger sister."
The video, which quickly racked up millions of views, was captioned: I came back inside with tears in my eyes because this single momma really needed the extra cash. I felt for her, as someone who was raised by a single mother. My momma stayed working late shifts.
As you can imagine, the food delivery person was stunned by this gesture, and her eyes welled up with tears.
The internet was overjoyed by Wichman's gesture and comments poured in to praise the mom of one for her kindness.
One comment read "That was such a long (extra) hug! I had to double check and made sure the video hadn't paused! You definitely made her day/night! So sweet!".
One TikToker shared what happened when they received a generous tip when working at Amazon Flex, and said they used it to pay for their son's graduation.

Speaking about his childhood, Wichman told Newsweek her husband was given up for adoption at birth because his biological mother was struggling financially: "We always do what we can, and both our mothers played a big role in that."
As requested by someone on TikTok, Wichman reposted the video with sound, and the food delivery person expresses her gratitude and says "take care of my rent, girl."
Wichman also told Newsweek that the delivery worker had since reached out to her to say that she was facing eviction at the time.
The video is proof that a little kindness can go a long way.
