An Australian woman who discovered she was pregnant just one month after having a miscarriage is expecting twins in December.

Emily Osberger, from Queensland, asked God to bless and grow her family after grieving the loss of her baby, which left her "devastated."

"I lost my spark for some time, even feeling depressed and sad," the 28-year-old told Newsweek.

Emily Osberger, 28, said that everyone asked if she was shocked after receiving the positive result. "As beyond belief as it may seem, I knew there were two in there the moment I got that... "I knew this was a normal part of grief—and it would eventually pass—but it was more like six-eight weeks 'postpartum,' I didn't understand why I was still so tired and emotional."

Despite turning to faith in her time of need, Osberger didn't expect to get pregnant again so soon.

Pregnancy symptoms also escaped her, until she felt nauseous one evening, so when she proceeded to still feel sick the next day, a friend encouraged her to take a pregnancy test.

"I thought it would be way too good to be true, but sure enough, those double lines came up immediately," Osberger told Newsweek.

She and a friend had been praying for twins all along and Osberger said she just "knew" the outcome the moment the positive result appeared on the pregnancy test.

Emily Osberger, 28, told Newsweek she texted her friend (who was also praying she would have twins) an image of the ultrasound. Emily Osberger, 28, told Newsweek she texted her friend (who was also praying she would have twins) an image of the ultrasound. Emily Osberger

"My husband, Joseph, and I were ecstatic [and] so touched that God heard our prayers and He delivered," Osberger told Newsweek.

Coupled with a feeling from God, Osberger said that she was "convinced" she was carrying twins days before her first ultrasound.

"Sure enough, when we saw those two beautiful little babies show up on the screen, tears of gratitude flowed, and it felt so right," she said.

Sharing her story on Instagram, Osberger (@emily.osberger) received hundreds of congratulatory comments from other users.

Many shared that they had experienced a similar outcome when praying to God, with one user commenting: "This just happened for my friends! We've been praying for them for babies (they've been praying for 11 years) and we prayed for twins, and GOD ANSWERED!!! I'm crying now just thinking about it because God is amazing."

Osberger said that her reel received an overwhelming response but was heartbroken to read about other women who have experienced a miscarriage.

"I feel the pain for each one," she told Newsweek.

"Unfortunately, it is very common. There has also been a beautiful outpouring of support from other twin moms who say everyone 'panics for you' but there is no need, and it is the most special experience."

Osberger's twins are due in December.
