All pet owners know their tiny babies won't stay that small forever, but it isn't until they look back at photos that it hits them how much their little ones have changed—and one incredible transformation has taken the internet by storm.

TikTok user @shannnanwatkins recently posted a video comparing her orange Maine coon cat as a kitten and what the feline looks like now. The videos were taken about two and half years apart, she told Newsweek via TikTok.

With over 5.4 million views, people couldn't get over the unreal transformation. The kitten was about 10 weeks old in the first clip, weighing just over two pounds and was about 14 inches long. She was barely big enough to see inside the washing machine.

Fast forward to how the cat looks now and no tiny kitty is to be found. Instead, a giant orange cat is basking in the sunlight. The cat's belly was exposed with her fur looking like a pillow. The owner said her cat now weighs just under 20 pounds and she's 29 inches long.

The hashtag that the owner used in the caption should've given users an idea of how large the cat would grow even before the reveal. Maine coons are the largest domesticated cat breed in the world. Females weigh an average of 10 to 15 pounds while males typically weigh between 15 and 25 pounds.

Maine coon cats usually take people by surprise. They are larger than some small dogs. But what makes them so big?

Maine coons are direct descendants of Norweigan forest cats, which are naturally very big, Maine Coon Central reported.

Their slow growth rate gives their bone structure and muscles time to develop. Most cats are done growing at one year, but these felines will continue to grow until they are about three or four years old.

'Real-Life Garfield'

The clip reached over 1 million likes and 866 comments. TikTok users flooded the comment section with shock and awe. They couldn't believe the cat's transformation from a tiny kitten. Several people even referred to the cat as the "real-life Garfield."

"That kitten became Garfield," wrote one person, while another added: "Omg the real-life Garfield soooo cute and chubby."

A TikToker commented: "That cat looks huggable as hell."

Someone pointed out: "LOOK AT THAT FLOOFY BELLY!"
