Kamala Harris is out-fundraising Donald Trump, raising more than four times his total in August,The Washington Post reports.
Harris raised $190 million throughout the month, according to the Post, while Trump’s team raised $43 million.
Singer Janet Jackson also apologized for spreading the false claim that Kamala Harris is not Black on Sunday after Donald Trump and others peddled similar claims.
“She deeply respects Vice President Kamala Harris and her accomplishments as a Black and Indian woman,” Jackson’s manager Mo Elmasri said. “Janet apologizes for any confusion caused and acknowledges the importance of accurate representation in public discourse. We appreciate the opportunity to address this and will remain committed to promoting unity.”
The singer made the comments in an interview with The Guardian published on Saturday.
“She’s not Black,” Jackson said. “That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian. Her father’s white. That’s what I was told.”
When the reporter pushed back, explaining Harris is both Black and Indian, Jackson held her ground and falsely claimed the vice president’s father is white. Harris’s father, Donald Harris, was born and Jamaica and is Black. Her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, is Indian.
Trump spread a similar baseless claim earlier this summer, claiming Harris only recently “became a Black woman.”

ICYMI: John Fetterman says fellow senator JD Vance has ‘reputation to say dumb things’
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman laughed off claims from JD Vance that Democratic rhetoric inspired the two assassination attempts against Donald Trump this summer.
“Who’s actually listening to what Vance says?” Fetterman told NBC News on Sunday.
“He has developed the kind of reputation to say dumb things, pointless things, and offend everybody, and he’s been picked as the most unpopular pick in history, but no one’s listening to him,” he added. “I’m certainly not.”
Last week, Vance said that the lack of assassination attempts against Kamala Harris are evidence that Democratic rhetoric is fueling violence against Trump.
“No one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in the last couple of months, and two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump in the last couple of months,” Vance said at a Faith and Freedom Coalition event last Monday. “I think that’s pretty strong evidence that the left needs to tone down the rhetoric or somebody is going to get hurt.”
Trump has similarly blamed Harris for the attempts on his life: “The Rhetoric, Lies, as exemplified by the false statements made by Comrade Kamala Harris during the rigged and highly partisan ABC Debate...has taken politics in our Country to a whole new level of Hatred, Abuse, and Distrust.”
Pressure mounts on Mark Robinson from all sides after porn site scandal
More and more mainstream Republican officials are calling on Mark Robinson, their party’s nominee for governor in North Carolina, to sue CNN if he really believes a damning report about his history of comments on an online porn site is false or step aside in the race.
Robinson was trailing his Democratic opponent, Josh Stein, before the release of the report on Thursday. CNN’s article uncovered a deep history of shocking and outrageous comments apparently made by Robinson on a porn site years before he entered politics.
