A mom-of-two who woke early one morning to the sound of "beeping" was left stunned after discovering what her toddler was up to.
It was 5:30 a.m. when Brooke Scheurn from Arizona got out of bed to see what was going on, having heard a sound that, while familiar, made little sense at that time of the day.

"It was the beeping sounds on the microwave early in the morning," Scheurn told Newsweek. Scheurn is an avid TikToker, having made a regular habit of sharing her family's exploits on the platform. "We just thought we had cute fun family content we wanted to share with everyone and it just took off and we enjoy it very much," she explained.
So she was ready with her camera to document the source of the disturbance. She quickly spotted the culprit: her toddler son, Asher.
Hiding around the corner, she filmed him as he busied himself in the kitchen making what she quickly realized was a bowl of popcorn. But as Scheurn watched, she quickly realized that Asher wasn't making himself an early morning snack. He was making one for his baby sister, Clove.
The video, posted to TikTok under the handle brookescheurn, captured Asher delivering the bowl to his sister in her cot, before climbing in to enjoy the snack with her. Scheurn shared the clip with a sense of disbelief, writing in the caption: "you can't make this up I promise."
But although Asher's efforts are unique, his gesture does chime with an idea promoted by at least one study published in the Journal of Adolescence back in 2014.

As part of the study, 308 pairs of teenage siblings were monitored over a three-year period. Researchers found that, time and time again, a quality relationship between siblings had a significantly positive impact on prosocial behavior and boosted levels of altruism.
It may be early days for Asher and Clove, but this early interaction, at a time when most toddlers would perhaps be experiencing some level of jealousy at being usurped as the baby of the house, bodes well for their future relationship.
It certainly provided a bright spot to Scheurn's day, despite the early wake up. "It made me so happy," she said.
In fact, since the video was filmed, Asher has made a habit of serving his sister breakfast in bed. Well, not quite breakfast. "He is really just obsessed with making yummies for baby sis," Scheurn said. "We have caught him getting ice cream for her, cookies, and popcorn. He does it early in the morning and brings it to her in bed."
While relationships can evolve and change, for now Scheurn is just happy to have captured this most unique of moments on camera and shared it with the world. "It just captures the sweetness of the brother-sister love between them and is a funny moment," she said.
