A dad from Oregon has melted hearts online after showcasing his latest DIY project, a "dream closet" for his two daughters, ahead of the birth of the newest member of the family.

In the viral clip, shared on TikTok on Monday, the soon-to-be father of three, Mason Smith (@dadsocial), can be seen dismantling the old closet and building it all up again from scratch, adding a vanity area for his girls to feel special.

"I couldn't do the whole room and leave the closet like that. Plus I had extra wallpaper, paint, and wood, so it didn't cost much more just to finish out the room," he captioned the video.

"It's been so fun to see my daughters enjoying their bunkers, excited to go to bed to get to turn on their own little lights and tell stories. Can't wait to see them use this little mini vanity set up on their closet."

Smith told Newsweek: "I have the most amazing family. My wife is my hero and the real MVP of our family. She makes all these fun projects possible. We have been married for 11 years and have three amazing daughters.

"We just had our third daughter, so there were two reasons why I wanted to redo my daughters' room. First, I knew that there were going to be at least 7 more years of little girls sleeping in the bunk beds, so it was worth the build.

"And second, and more importantly, I wanted to do something special for my older two daughters as we embark on this journey as a family of 5 together. I want them to always know, though our attention is split, they are always our whole worlds. I can't wait for all the memories that this room will bring our little girls in the years to come!"

Smith's daughters were really excited about the new feature in the room, and according to their dad, they haven't stopped talking about it since.

"They love showing their friends and doing each other's nails on that little stool in front of the mirror."

The video quickly went viral on TikTok. It has received over 6.5 million views and 469,700 likes on the platform so far.

One user, Rhianna, commented: "Every child needs their Bob the builder parent, it's honestly so heartwarming seeing you make your daughters' imagination come to life."
