A tiny kitten was determined to discover the most comfortable place for a nap and found it in the arms of a dog 10 times his size.

Tabby kitten Monkey lives with his owner, Lorrie Brown, in Missouri along with a whole host of other animals. Brown is the proud owner of cats and dogs and is even friends with local deer in their rural community. Her videos show all of them going hiking together.

But one video blowing up on TikTok is all about Monkey and how he abandoned his owner on the sofa and instead pleaded with golden retriever Kai for a cuddle.

Brown told Newsweek she realized soon after she got Monkey that he was "just the biggest cuddler, and every time I turned around he was nuzzled up into someone. Our deer, the dogs, the other cats."

In the clip, shared to @brownhikingtrails on July 19, Monkey creeps up to Kai as he is sprawled on the couch, totally ignoring the old saying "let sleeping dogs lie."

As the kitten gets closer, Kai looks around in surprise, but as Monkey begins clambering over his legs and nuzzles into him, he lets it happen. Then, in the sweetest possible end to the clip, Kai begins giving Monkey loving licks, and the two settle in for a nap together.

The video, reposted to the account @brownhikingtrails on July 21, has drawn much reaction from TikTok users, with one calling it "so precious."

Another joked: "Excuse me while I scooch right in here."

A similar video of Monkey cuddling into Kai has exploded in popularity, racking up 10 million views, with one commenter declaring that videos like this are "why I pay internet."

"Cats and dogs interaction is the warmest thing ever," another said, while one user said: "This must be the cosiest place in the universe."

"I can't handle this level of cuteness," another admitted.

While dogs and cats are sometimes viewed as natural enemies, family pets can learn to love each other, particularly if they're introduced correctly. Dogs Trust, a British animal welfare charity and humane society, advises owners to introduce them slowly, first by sharing the new pet's scent with the dog through blankets or toys.

Once the dog is used to the kitten's scent, owners should cautiously introduce them while ensuring each animal has its own space and rewarding the dog for good behavior.

Brown told Newsweek she reshared the video after it appeared in her TikTok Memories. Monkey is now 3 years old, while Kai is 4. The tiny kitten "snuggled up to him the day we got him," Brown said.

"Kai and Monkey [still] cuddle together but also wrestle with each other now that Monkey is older," Brown said, adding that the cat "hikes with me and the dogs and the deer."

But despite getting older, Monkey "still has to be nuzzled up to someone."

Brown said she undertook a massive project during the pandemic: building "10 miles of hiking trails on our land."

"I have cats, dogs and deer that go hiking with me and all get along," she said.

Her TikTok account is filled with clips of what she finds on her property: a deer impatiently waiting for her snack at the back door, a mother deer allowing people to get close to her newborn fawns, and her cats playing together while out on a hiking trail.
